instabilit\u00e0 di liquidi in condizioni di non equilibrio termodinamico. Alcuni esempi includono le fluttuazioni in processi diffusivi in assenza di gravit\u00e0, instabilit\u00e0 idrodinamiche in fluidi complessi, il trasporto di calore in nanofluidi intelligenti e le instabilit\u00e0 idrodinamiche nei getti liquidi.<\/p>\n<p>Le diagnostiche ottiche avanzate utilizzate per lo studio di questi fenomeni vengono sviluppate direttamente dal gruppo, che ha grande esperienza anche nello sviluppo di strumentazione per lo studio di liquidi nello Spazio, come ad esempio la diagnostica quantitativa shadowgraph usata per l\u2019esperimento <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/Our_Activities\/Human_Spaceflight\/The_importance_of_mixing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GRADFLEX<\/a> dell\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/ESA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agenzia Spaziale Europea<\/a> in collaborazione con <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NASA<\/a>, che ha volato a bordo della navicella spaziale <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/Our_Activities\/Human_Spaceflight\/Research\/Foton-M3_mission_to_launch_European_experiments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOTON-M3<\/a> nel 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Lo sviluppo delle tecniche sperimentali viene condotto in gran parte direttamente dagli studenti laureandi, che hanno l\u2019opportunit\u00e0 unica di avvalersi delle competenze tecniche del personale dell\u2019Officina di Dipartimento, oltre che della sua dotazione delle macchine utensili. In particolare, molte tesi comportano una parte significativa di progettazione e realizzazione di parti meccaniche in officina, che vengono poi utilizzate per realizzare la strumentazione diagnostica utilizzata nel corso delle tesi. Questo tipo di esperienza permette agli studenti di conseguire delle competenze tecniche non coperte da nessuno dei corsi frontali offerti nell\u2019ambito della laurea in Fisica, quali nozioni di base di progettazione, propriet\u00e0 dei materiali e tecniche di lavorazione.
